KeepJot Terms of Use
Effective date: October 16, 2026 · Last updated: October 16, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and M Remarkable Tech (“M TECH”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a business name of M Remarkable Inc., and govern your use of the KeepJot mobile application and related services (“KeepJot” or the “App”). By downloading, installing or using KeepJot, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use KeepJot. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use KeepJot only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
- You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
2. What KeepJot is — and isn't
KeepJot is a personal and small-business record-keeping tool for tracking spending, income and schedules. KeepJot is not a bank, and it does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice. Summaries, categories and other information in the App are for your personal organization only. Consult a qualified professional before making financial or tax decisions.
3. Voice, AI and receipt features
KeepJot uses speech recognition and artificial intelligence (provided by Apple and Anthropic, as described in our Privacy Policy) to interpret what you say or type, read receipts, categorize entries and generate summaries. These features can make mistakes — for example, mishearing an amount or misreading a receipt. Please review your entries for accuracy. You remain responsible for the records you keep and any decisions you make based on them.
4. Bank connections
- Connecting a bank account is optional and is provided through Plaid Inc. Your use of Plaid is also subject to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Access is read-only. KeepJot cannot move money or initiate payments.
- Imported data comes from your financial institution through Plaid. We do not guarantee that it will be complete, accurate or up to date, and connections can be interrupted by your bank or by Plaid.
- You must only connect accounts that you own or are authorized to access.
5. Shared ledgers
If you create or join a shared ledger, other members can view and edit its entries. Only invite people you trust. The owner of a shared ledger may remove members or delete the ledger. You are responsible for content you add to a shared ledger.
6. Subscriptions and payments
KeepJot is currently available free of charge during its beta period. When paid features are offered:
- Purchases are made through Apple's App Store and are processed by Apple under its terms. Prices will be shown in the App before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with its policies.
7. Your content
You own the content you add to KeepJot, including entries, notes and receipt images (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display Your Content solely to operate and improve KeepJot for you and the shared-ledger members you choose. We do not claim ownership of Your Content, and you can delete it at any time.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use KeepJot for any unlawful purpose, including fraud or money laundering;
- access or attempt to access another person's account or data without permission;
- interfere with or disrupt the App, its servers or networks, or attempt to bypass security measures;
- reverse engineer, decompile or copy the App, except where the law expressly permits it;
- upload malicious code or content that infringes others' rights.
9. Our intellectual property
KeepJot, including its software, design, logos and the KeepJot and M TECH names, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's Usage Rules.
10. Beta features
Versions distributed through Apple TestFlight or marked as beta are pre-release software. They may contain bugs, change without notice, or be discontinued. Please keep your own copy of any records that are important to you.
11. Termination
You may stop using KeepJot and delete your account at any time from within the App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. If we discontinue KeepJot, we will try to give you reasonable notice so you can export or save your records.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KeepJot is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of KeepJot. Our total liability for any claim relating to KeepJot will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for KeepJot in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection laws in your province or state.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of KeepJot or your violation of these Terms.
15. Apple-specific terms
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for KeepJot or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to KeepJot (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If KeepJot fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your place of residence, disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date, and will notify you in the App or by email of material changes. Continuing to use KeepJot after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
